For Clubs which have registered 2 teams in of the 14 divisions (e.g. an  ‘A’ and reserve team ) the objective of allowing player movement between the “A” team and the “R” (Reserve) team is to maximize player development opportunities and allow for continuous player evaluation leading to coaches being able to select the best team heading to Provincials.

It is anticipated that a Club will most likely move players in order to better evaluate the player for developmental purposes. We trust clubs, technical directors and coaches will move players for sound reasons; reasons which can be clearly understood by the players affected.

The League and SNS are reluctant to put too many rules in place so as not to detract from player development. Within the “spirit’  of this initiative it is expected that Clubs, technical staff and coaches will not move vast numbers of players nor will they adopt a win at all costs approach. Notwithstanding player ‘attitude’ issues we anticipate continuous evaluation of the bubble players, the bottom section of the A team and the top section of the Reserve team.

The League expects all U14 players to play once a week and players identified/selected to the U14 SNS Provincial team should play for the ‘A’ team unless there are circumstances where it may be in the best interest of the player (such as recovering from an injury) to play for the reserve team.

Be mindful that home and away teams are going to be printing game sheets so to minimize manual changes it will be helpful to make roster changes a minimum of 24hrs in advance of a game.

Player movement between teams will be permitted until July 31. After this date clubs/teams shall fix the rosters for both 14 teams. Only those players on the “A” team shall be eligible for Provincial play downs. Call-ups from the Reserve team to the “A” team are permitted for the balance of the regular season.

The League will be monitoring player movement activity as part of the League’s evaluation.
